Leeson Group will co-develop the project with Enel Green Power Australia, generating approximately 77GWh of renewable electricity each year and avoiding 70,200 tonnes of carbon being emitted into the atmosphere each year. The plant will consist of 87,000 high-efficiency bifacial solar modules on a single-axis tracking system that will track the sun from morning to evening and cover 82.5 hectares.
"The project aligns with our group's goal of a zero-carbon electricity sector and is a huge step toward the Victorian State Government 40% renewable Energy Target," said Peter Leeson, the managing director of Leeson Group. "The project is estimated to cost 59 million Australian dollars, will create Victorian jobs and stimulate the local and state economy".
Leeson Group is a Victorian-based renewable energy business operating in Solar Farm Development, National Construction, Energy Consultancy and Building Integrated PV. Leeson Group works with government, industry and investment partners across the sector.
